Gurugram, July 29: Samsung’s 8th generation foldable smartphones—the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8, and Galaxy Z Flip8—have shattered pre-order records, underscoring the mainstreaming of foldable technology and unparalleled consumer enthusiasm in India. The new devices recorded over 271,000 pre-orders within just 72 hours of their launch on July 22 in India. Last year, Samsung India had taken 15 days to receive a similar number of pre-orders for its Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7.
The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8, and Galaxy Z Flip8 have achieved remarkable success, with 45% of pre-orders originating from tier 2 cities and beyond. The Galaxy Z Fold8 introduces a new foldable experience designed around how people consume content throughout the day. Its 10:16 cover display offers a natural smartphone experience for messaging, browsing and watching short format videos, while the 4:3 main display transforms into a larger canvas for reading, gaming, streaming and multitasking. When rotated, the display ratio becomes better suited for reading articles and e-books.
Weighing just 201 grams, Galaxy Z Fold8 is Samsung’s lightest Galaxy Z Fold yet. It combines a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor with a 4800mAh battery to deliver responsive performance and all-day endurance.
Samsung has also redesigned the display structure with new Flex Titanium technology, helping make the device thinner while improving durability and reducing crease visibility over time. The display supports up to 3000 nits of brightness, Vision Booster and a low-reflection finish for improved outdoor viewing.
For photography and video, Galaxy Z Fold8 features dual 50MP cameras for consistent image quality across wide and ultra-wide perspectives. Dual Recording captures both sides of a moment simultaneously, while My FanCam automatically tracks a selected subject and reframes footage for social-ready videos.
