New Delhi, Sep 5: Heavy rain and thunderstorms disrupted flight operations at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, leaving passengers facing delays and changes to their travel plans.
The intense spell of rain caused waterlogging in parts of the airport and on roads leading to the terminals. Several flights were diverted to nearby cities, while hundreds of arrivals and departures were delayed as weather conditions affected aircraft movement.
Airlines issued travel advisories asking passengers to check their flight status before leaving for the airport and keep extra time for their journey. The heavy rain also slowed traffic across several parts of Delhi-NCR, making the trip to and from the airport longer than usual.
The disruption comes during a period of intense monsoon activity in the national capital. The weather has affected not only air travel but also road transport and daily movement across Delhi-NCR.
