The showcase delves into the rarely seen facets of Somnath Hore’s practice, featuring drawings, prints, and sculptures that reveal the artist’s profound engagement with themes of suffering, resilience, and humanity.

Guided by the curatorial team, the visit offered an intimate perspective into Hore’s creative process and the historical context that shaped his art. The discussion highlighted how A Prelude to Wounds not only celebrates Hore’s artistic legacy but also underscores JCCA’s mission to build a deeper dialogue between the modern and the contemporary. These rare artworks had been in the care of Somnath’s daughter, Chandana Hore, who kindly provided them to JCCA.

Following the walkthrough of the exhibition, the team also took the visiting media for a guided tour of the entire JCCA space, including its thoughtfully designed Art Cafe and the vibrant Culture Hub. This immersive walkthrough offered a glimpse into how JCCA integrates art, dialogue, and community engagement within its multifaceted gallery environment.
