Jaipur, Oct 18: Vedanta’s flagship social impact initiative, Nand Ghar, welcomed Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Smt. Diya Kumari, for the launch of Shishu Sanjeevani, a fortified, ready-to-eat nutritional supplement for children aged 3–6 years, at its centre in Vidhyadhar Nagar, Jaipur. The launch marks a significant step towards strengthening early childhood nutrition and supporting the state’s vision of Kuposhan-Mukt Rajasthan. The event was attended by government officials, representatives of the Women and Child Development Department, community members, frontline functionaries, mothers and children.

Developed by the NDDB Foundation for Nutrition, Shishu Sanjeevani is an energy-dense, ready-to-eat supplement especially formulated to meet the nutritional needs of preschool children. Made with ingredients including Bengal gram, groundnut, sesame, milk solids and ghee, each 30-gram serving provides approximately 156 kcal of energy, 18% protein and essential vitamins and minerals.

Smt. Diya Kumari, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister, Rajasthan, said, “Ensuring better nutrition for children is essential to building a healthier and stronger Rajasthan. I commend Vedanta’s Nand Ghar for launching Shishu Sanjeevani, a meaningful initiative that will provide children with nutritious supplementation, supporting their healthy growth and development during the crucial early years. Such efforts can play an important role in improving nutritional outcomes among young children. We also discussed the need to strengthen anganwadi infrastructure through timely maintenance and to further enhance nutrition by incorporating seasonal vegetables into children’s meals."
The Deputy Chief Minister personally served Shishu Sanjeevani halwa to children attending the event. She also distributed Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) kits and interacted with children and their parents.

Shashi Arora, CEO, Nand Ghar, Vedanta, said, “At Nand Ghar, we believe that addressing malnutrition requires early intervention, sustained community engagement and practical nutritional solutions. Guided by our Chairman Mr. Anil Agarwal’s vision of ensuring that no child goes to bed hungry and every child has the opportunity to thrive, we are committed to making quality nutrition and early childhood care accessible to underserved communities in rural areas. The launch of Shishu Sanjeevani (nutritional supplement for children below 6 years developed by NDDB) reinforces this commitment, and we are proud to support the Government of Rajasthan in building a healthier future for every child, especially every girl child.”

Dr. Meenesh C. Shah, Chairman and Managing Director further added, "The nutritional well-being of children is fundamental to building a healthy and prosperous nation and calls for sustained efforts and strong partnerships. NDDB Foundation for Nutrition is pleased to collaborate with Anil Agarwal Foundation to extend the Shishu Sanjeevani Programme to children at Nand Ghars across Rajasthan. Developed by NDDB, Shishu Sanjeevani is an energy-dense, fortified, ready-to-eat nutritional supplement, specially designed for children aged 3–6 years. This initiative aims to support children’s growth and development during the crucial early years and lay the foundation for a healthier future."

The launch reflects the shared commitment of the Government of Rajasthan, Nand Ghar and development partners to strengthening early childhood nutrition through community-based interventions. By combining nutritional support with early learning opportunities and greater awareness among families, the initiative contributes to the broader goal of building healthier and stronger communities across Rajasthan.
