SBI to Charge Rs 15 for Cash Withdrawals Beyond Four from October 1

New Delhi: State Bank of India (SBI) has revised its cash withdrawal charges for Basic Savings Bank Deposit (BSBD) accounts, with the new rules coming into effect from October 1, 2026.

Under the revised structure, BSBD account holders will continue to get four cash withdrawals free every month. Any withdrawal beyond the four-transaction limit will attract a charge of Rs 15 plus applicable GST per transaction.

The revised rules also bring Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (AePS) cash withdrawals within the monthly free-transaction limit. This means customers using AePS will need to factor those withdrawals into their four free transactions each month.

SBI has clarified that digital transactions will continue to remain free without any transaction limit. The change is expected to encourage BSBD account holders to increasingly use digital channels for routine payments and fund transfers while managing cash withdrawals more carefully.
