Indian Bank Partners with VIT Chennai to Organise PSBS Hackathon Series 2026

Chennai, Feb 5: Indian Bank, in collaboration with Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Chennai, is organising the PSBS Hackathon Series 2026 as part of an initiative of Department of Financial Services supported by Indian Banks Association. The hackathon is themed “IntelliTrace: Protect – Detect – Prevent Fraud”, aimed at fostering innovative, technology-driven solutions to combat emerging financial fraud risks.

The hackathon will focus on critical problem statements such as cross-channel mule accounts, multi-tier supply chain fraud detection, and network-level fraud analytics, encouraging participants to develop scalable and practical solutions for the banking ecosystem.

The collaboration was formalised through an MoU signed between Indian Bank and VIT Chennai in the presence of Shri Deepak Sarda (CGM IT of Indian Bank) & Dr. G. V. Selvam (Vice President of VIT) along with other senior officials from Indian Bank and academic leadership from VIT. The event is open to students, researchers, scholars, and startups across VIT campuses and institutions under Anna University (Pan-India).

Speaking on the occasion, Indian Bank officials highlighted that the initiative aligns with the Bank’s commitment to leveraging innovation, data analytics, and fintech collaboration to strengthen fraud prevention and customer trust in the digital banking era.
