Manipal Hospital Baner Celebrates by Uniting 800+ Residents, Patients, and Professionals to Promote Heart & Brain Health and Active Living

Pune, 13th Oct 2025: As part of its ongoing Neighborhood Connect Program, Manipal hospital recently organized a special 3-km Walkathon that brought together over 800+ enthusiastic participants, including residents, former cardiac and neuro patients, and corporate professionals from Baner and nearby areas. Starting and concluding at Manipal Hospital Baner, the Walkathon symbolized a collective step towards healthier hearts & brains and highlighted the importance of preventive care, active living, and lifestyle management in safeguarding cardiac & brain health.

Speaking on the Occasion, Dr. Abhijit Joshi, Head of the Department and Consultant  Cardiology, Manipal Hospitals Baner, Pune Said, don’t miss the beat – “cardiovascular diseases continue to be a leading source of morbidity and mortality, and many of them can be avoided with immediate intervention. To reduce risk factors including obesity, diabetes, and hypertension, it is important to maintain a nutritious diet, get frequent cardiac screenings, and regular physical activities. Through initiatives like the Awareness Walkathon, we aim to remind people that small steps taken today can protect the heart for years to come.”

The event began in the morning with an energetic Zumba session that energized everyone for the day. It also included a hands-on CPR training session conducted by hospital experts to spread awareness about emergency life-saving techniques. The event featured a series of expert talks on health, as well as interactive activities, T-shirt giveaways, gift hampers, and a healthy breakfast for all attendees.
