Maharashtra – Vijaybhoomi University proudly hosted Kanyathon 2025, an annual charity run dedicated to empowering underprivileged girls in India. The event was organized by the students of Vijaybhoomi University and raised vital funds to support education, healthcare, safety, and overall well-being for young girls across the country. Additionally, families, local citizens, and government officials joined to make this a truly community-driven effort. The event was graced by Priyanka Ojha, Founder & CEO of Athlean India – A pioneering sports organization dedicated to revolutionizing fitness, sports training, and athlete development in India, as the Guest of Honor, along with MLA Shri Mahendra Thorve, who are strong advocates for women’s empowerment and education.

Speaking of the initiative, Dr. Ravikesh Srivastava, Vice-Chancellor of Vijaybhoomi University, said, “In India, we have exceptionally talented young girls with the drive to change the world. However, their progress is often hindered—not due to a lack of opportunities, but because of limited access to essential resources like education funds, healthcare, and sanitation facilities. As the world advances, it is our collective responsibility to ensure that every individual, regardless of gender, has equal access to education, healthcare, and opportunities. With this mission, Kanyathon has successfully transformed the lives of many young girls who were previously deprived of these basic needs. Together, we continue to work towards a future where every girl is educated, empowered, and has the opportunity to thrive. Empowering a girl means empowering a “Family”.
Kalpana Padode, an advocate for social change, added, “Kanyathon is a student-led initiative dedicated to empowering the girl child through education, health, and hygiene. By focusing on rural girls and daughters of sex workers, we are creating lasting change and promoting equality. Every donation fuels this movement, building a brighter and more inclusive future for our daughters.”
