From boulevard Saint-Germain to New Delhi, from 1961 to the present day, the story of Diptyque continues to be Delhi, as the location for its inaugural boutique on the continent. By giving pride of place to its roving imagination and expression to the know-how at the origin of the pieces created by the Maison, it captures the originality and boulevard Saint-Germain in Paris, it is the crucible in which the Diptyque identity and its host culture meet; where the wanderlust and unconventionality cherished by the Maison connect and come together.

Once across the threshold of the boutique, past the iconic green façade and made-to-measure “Diptyque à Delhi” mosaic, visitors discover a world unto itself.The furniture and objects are carefully selected for their allusive character and ability to tell a panoply of stories; stucco walls, a colorful ceiling, a large decorative painted frieze and a wall drawing conjure a world of sophistication and eclecticism, beckoning visitors into the home of a collector or a cabinet of curiosities.

Summoning both the charming interiors for which Paris, the birthplace of Diptyque, is renowned, and the opulence and cultural richness ofIndian palaces,the boutique’stwo roomsfeature the stucco typical of Haussmann apartments,
warmed by bright, Indian-inspired colors, including a pink upper frieze, also hand-painted, which melds into the green ceiling the candle collection and, on the right, the fragrance counter, above which hangs a monumental drawing inspired by one of Desmond’s works.

Separated by an arch resting on Corinthian columns painted the same colors as the stucco, a nod to Indian architecture, the second room is graced with a large chandelier suspended over a table on which the fragrances are displayed. On the left, a large oak bookcase for the home and decoration collections runs the entire length of the wall.

To the right, framed by a set of masonry shelves showcasing the art of skincare and premium collections, a sofa with plush cushions nestles in a niche covered in a precious fabric with a motif of peacock feathers handembroidered by Julia & Sita. behind a door with golden painted highlights.

This latest boutique at the heart of Delhi is a feast for the senses and the mind, a medley of wood and glass, green and gold. Visitors are invited to experience it as they discover the space devoted to each collection and its rituals, fromcollection.
